    The Cenozoic is the age of mammals.

    It was during the Cenozoic that these lifeforms proliferated:

    - Grasses

    - Flowering plants

    - Birds

    - Rodents

    - Snakes

    Also, Antarctica developed its ice sheet through most of the Cenozoic.
