    The legislative branch consists the Senate and the House of Representatives. Its role is to pass laws that are beneficial to the State. The Civil Rights Act had several versions and revisions. The legislative branch used the Fourteenth Amendment to pass the Civil Rights Act of 1875. This government branch also reconstructed the Civil Rights Act in the late 1960s.
