What was a common motivation for African Americans and American Indians fighting in the Revolution?

    I'll assume it was the American Revolution, the Americans and British had both promised the release of enslaved African Americans and the lands of American Indians, however, most of these promises were mainly carried out by the British, which was not that often either.
