    Diction is used in the story to make the characters of the story into life and to make them feel real and believable.

    Explanation:

    There are various themes of the story their eyes are watching god. Some of the themes of this story are looking for some live and respect, desire for independence but which is unconditional. Another theme of the story is about discrimination, prejudice, race and racism.

    The author of the story makes use of diction to bring the story and the characters of the story together and to bring them to life. Because of the use of diction, the characters seem to be real and believable.
