When self-esteem is high, individuals are more willing to put effort into something and be confident that they will do an excellent job as their vision is very positive and so they have a optimistical mindset which allows them to produce a higher performance. Whereas when self-esteem is low, they are already thinking in a fixed mindset which stops them from putting in more effort in tasks that they are supposed to do. This automatically has a dramatic effect on their performance as their mind is consumed with negativity.
