The controlled variables in an expirmement are the ones that stay the same. For example in an expirment testing the sun's affect on plant growth, things like the water soil and pot are all controlled variables; they did not change. Expirimental variables, however, are the variables you are changing. In the plant expiriment's case, the amount of UV rays or sunlight directed at the plants are the changing, or expiremental variable.
