According to Atticus the reason why Mayella throw false accusation to Tom because Mayella felt quilty and ashamed because she broke a severe long usage of code and she was white and induce a Negro to do wrong. Hence Mayella did something that the society is incapable of being expressed in words because she kissed a black man and there were no code considered to her before she broke it but it came crashing down on here afterwards. That is why in order to rid herself from guilt she tried to ruin the evidence of her offense and this evidence consisted of Tom Robinson himself, Mayella’s daily reminder of what she did.
