    True

    Explanation:

Carnival arrived in Brazil in the mid-seventeenth century, under the influence of the carnival parties that took place in Europe. In some countries, such as France, the carnival happened in the form of urban parades, that is, the carnivals wore masks and costumes and went out in the streets celebrating.

Certain characters are of European origin, but nonetheless were incorporated into the Brazilian carnival such as King Momo, Pierrot, Colombine.

From this period, the first carnival blocks, strings and the famous carriages (Corsicans) were created, but only became popular in the early twentieth century.

People decorated their cars, dressed in costumes, and in groups paraded through the city streets, giving rise to the floats. Carnival became more popular during the twentieth century and had a considerable growth that occurred due to the carnival marches (songs that made the carnival get more excited).
