Brass instruments are those having a cupped mouthpiece. Examples include:. Trumpet. Cornet. French horn. Trombone. Baritone horn. Euphonium, and tuba. Brass instruments are made out of metal and the have reeds and most of them have valves. The roman army used early forms of trumpets/bugles in differentsizes. No valves though, as those weren't invented until hundredsof years later. The names of some of these instruments include cornu and buccina.
