How did pericles add to the legacy of ancient greek architecture?

Pericles wanted Athens to be known as the great leader of the Greek world, he also wanted to build an acropolis that represented Athens Glory. He also rebuilt many temples on the Acropolis that were eventually destroyed by the Persians.
