The text below is about changing the meaning of the sculptures that represented Confederate leaders.

    Explanation:

A sculpture is a very popular work of art that has the ability to represent things and people that are very important for a given historical period or for a particular factor in society.

As we know, the American Civil War was a very important historical period for the country and one that must be remembered and debated today. For this moment to be remembered constantly in American society, many sculptures were made by both the Confederate leaders and the leaders of the union.

However, as we know, Confederate leaders were slaves and fought for the right to enslave black people (among other objectives). His sculptures represented the participation of the Confederate states in the war and their leaders, however, currently with the vision of civil rights that we have and the constant progress against racism in our culture, these sculptures have taken on a different meaning. They now represent the foundations of racism in the country and represent the white supremacy that oppresses black people so much.
