Which kinds of jazz did Miles Davis play during his carrier?

    Miles Davis played bebop, cool jazz, modal jazz, hard bop, post-bop and jazz-rock fusion. In the early days of his carrier, from 1944 to 1948, in New York, Davis played bebop. After that, along with the group of musician he contributed in making a new style: cool jazz. The most importatn recording from this period was Birth of the Cool from 1956. Than he turned to playing hard bop (some of the important albums were Dig, Walkin', Bags' Groove, etc.). From 1957 to 1963, Davis recorded mostly with pianist Gill Evans, and the most important record form this period was Kind of Blue, the masterpiece of modal jazz. In the last part of his carrier, Miles experimented in fusing jazz and rock music, starting from 1969.
