    The development of sculpture and cave paintings were noted in Paleolithic period. It is the oldest art known which is around 40,000 to 10,000 BCE. Paleolithic art includes rock and cave painting, carving, engraving and sculpture in stone, clay, ivory and bones. Cave containing human remains has been found to have carved deer bones and other hunted animals. Moreover, most sculptures from this period also depicts animals.
