Apicomplexa contains many species that cause disease, including the Plasmodium species that cause Malaria. Apicomplexa also sporozoan are the spore producing phylum of protozoa. They are parasitic and lack contractile vacuoles and locomoter processes, they live within the body cavities or the cells of almost every kind.
