    The average adult lifespan for a worker bee in the temperature summer is six weeks. Life of honey bees starts as an egg, which is usually laid by the queen in the bottom of a wax cell in the brood are of a hive. A worker egg hatches after three days into a larva while nurse bees feed it royal jelly at first then pollen and honey for six days. Worker bees are female and are smaller, with shorter abdomens, and possess pollen baskets which are used to tote pollen back from the field.
