What would be the effects of chronic infection or inflammation of the kidneys?

    The kidneys function to get rid of urea and other waste products from the bloodstream. If they are infected or inflammed they would be unable to function. This means your blood may end up poisoned with urea. The poisoned blood will flow around the body poisoning other organs. This, if untreated, could lead to death.
