What type of epithelial tissue is found in the urinary bladder and allows it to stretch?

    The inside of the bladder is made up of transitional epithelial tissue. It stretches so that it can hold more urine inside the bladder if urine cannot be released. The tissue expands in case more urine flows into it so it can accommodate and hold the urine in the case that a person is not able to relieve himself or herself.
