Explain how the parietal cells of the gastric glands are able to produce hcl that is a million times more acidic than blood without destroying the cells themselves.

    The parietal cells of the gastric glands are not destroyed by the HCL because they have a mucus lining that prevent damage to the cells. The HCL prevents corrosion of the stomach lining cells. HCL is used to kill bacteria in the stomach and also create a good environment for enzyme reaction
