There are two processes that convert energy into food, namely, photosynthesis and cellular respiration. The former is the process of converting light coming from the sun into chemical bond energy/glucose. The latter converts energy into a more usable form that can sustain the growth of an organism. Basically, the conversion of energy results to food that sustains life.
