How does photosynthesis follow the laws of conservation of mass.

I know that it takes 6 molecules of both carbon and water (+Light) to start the process of photosynthesis. I also know you end up with 6 molecules of oxygen. Do you get 6 molecules of sugar as well? (seeing as that makes 12 molecules on each side of the "equation".)
