    The right atrium. The right atrium is one of the four hollow chambers of the interior of the heart. It receives oxygen deficient blood from all tissues, except the lungs through the superior and inferior venae; then it pumps the oxygen poor blood to the right ventricle, from there it is sent to the lungs for oxygenation.
