    High blood pressure and the accumulation of protein in the urine may be signs of glomerulonephritis. It is a condition where there is an inflammation in the kidney. Specifically, the glomeruli which is responsible for filtering blood and removing excess liquids. If they are inflamed, the kidney would not function well causing hypertension.
