Wegener was able to find an evidence there was once a land bridge that connected Brazil and Africa. He also found fossils of plants and animals in that area. He was able to find similar fossils around Europe, India, Madagascar and North America.

Wegener believed that the world started with a single pro-continent but slowly drifted away during the Carboniferous era.
