Juan Carlos Bonilla, head of the Central Africa programme for Conservation International, said, " Bushmeat is probably the biggest threat to biodiversity in central Africa,"

Bushmeat is defined as the meat of wild african animals.

Though it has been a practice to hunt bushmeat, it is for the sole purpose of feeding the family that lives in the wild. However, bushmeat hunting has become a global problem. People have been indiscriminately hunting for bushmeat in order to fulfill big orders from buyers. They poach and do other illegal means of hunting wild animals.

Continuous practice will bring about the extinction of wild animals. Not only will they be alert from their natural predators, they will also have to be aware of illegal hunters.

Hunting bushmeat is also a health problem. These wild animals eat whatever they can find in the wild regardless is said food is contaminated or not. In the event that people eat bushmeat that is contaminated, they will get sick and sometimes die.
