The answer is an extinction vortex. This occurs when a population is too small to recover its population hence plummets into extinction. This is because the population does not have a diverse genotypes on which natural selection can act on to enable the population to adapt. Additionally, the chances of homozygosity for recessive alleles is high hence decreasing the population even further.
