The answer is Water. Blood plasma is composed of 90% water. The rest of the 10% is composed of ions, soluble proteins (such as fibrinogen, albumin and antibodies), waste products, and dissolved respiratory gases. Plasma is made by removing corpuscles out of blood. When clotting factors are then removed from the blood plasma then you form serum.
