    The Electron Transport Chain (ETC), involving chemiosmosis, using oxygen (aerobic), and the last step being oxidative phosphorylation.

    That last step indicates that O2 will be the final proton acceptor when an inorganic phosphate (Pi) is added to (phosphorylates) ADP - - > ATP
