The best response of the nurse in this situation is to have a family discussion regarding with the treatment such as the electroconvulsive therapy. Such as having their feelings or fantasies to be voice out regarding to the ECT for discussion before undergoing the treatment is needed because this will affect with the treatment, especially to the patient if misconceptions has brought out. It could provide the patient with anxiety or fear as he or she undergoes or underwent with the therapy. It is needed to discuss the matters with the client and the members of the family, having the procedures to be recalled and to explain briefly why a second session is needed in the therapy.
