    The correct answer is false.

Parasympathetic nervous system (PNS) and sympathetic nervous system (SNS) are functionally different parts of ANS.

PNS controls homeostasis of the body. It is responsible for the body's "rest and digest" function which means that is active when the body is at rest. For example, it decreases the heart rate, relaxes muscles, constricts bronchial tubes, increases production of saliva, increases urinary output.

SNS, on the other hand, is involved in the body's fight-or-flight response, although it is active at a basic level to maintain homeostasis. SNS increases contraction and heart rate, dilates bronchial tubes, contract muscles, releases adrenaline.
