The metabolic disorder is metabolic alkalosis.

In a client with bulimia nervosa, when due to frequent vomiting there is much loss of hydrogen, secondary to hydrogen loss metabolic alkalosis may occur. Typically in bulimia nervosa the hypokalemia is more common than hypoglycemia. Because blood glucose level is within normal limits and there is loss of potassium due to frequent vomiting, that’s why hypokalemia is more common than hypoglycemia.
