In mitosis, the daughter cells produced would come out identical. This means that the number of chromosomes would have the same amount as the parent cell. In meiosis, the daughter cells would have half the number.

So if a parent cell has 16 chromosomes, the daughter cells would have 16. In meiosis, if the parent cell has 16 chromosomes, the daughter cells would have 8.

    The answer is 16,8.
