Which would be warmer, the water in the surface zone of the ocean 200 miles north of the equator, or 2,000 miles north of the equator? Explain why.

    The water would be warmer 200 miles north of the equator than it would be 2000 north of the equator, because the closer you are to the equator the more sun light you get.
