    When the sea water evaporates, the concentration of salts increases until it precipitates out. This is because, the water has reached a saturation state whereby it cannot dissolve any more solutes. As a result, the excess solutes tend to dissolve out and form very small crystals which becomes bigger as the concentration increases.
