    During the Mesozoic era, all of the Earths continents were joined into a single continent that is now referred to as Pangea. this single continent was dry and desertlike and it was covered in reptiles. By the end of the Mesozoic era, Pangea broke into multiple smaller continents.

    Major mountain building also occurred during this era due to the collision of tectonic plates and continents.

    In addition, a large amount of igneous rock formed during the Mesozoic era.
