    The correct option is B.

    The photosynthetic bacteria need energy from visible light in order to be able to manufacture their foods. If the visible light has been screened out by the ozone layer, then the source of energy for photosynthesis would have been removed and the photosynthetic bacteria would have been forced to die out.
