This current mass extinction is believed to be cause by human-related factors.

The 5th mass extinction was during the dinosaur era; which was demolished by the giant asteroid that hit Earth.

However, our 6th mass extinction (which makes me so sad); is cause by us ... the human race. We're over hunting, over harvesting, taking away habitats that overall will also effect our ecosystem in a negative way.
