    An ecosystem is a complete community of living organisms and nonliving materials of their surroundings.

    - Ecosystems are specific areas that can be either in water (aquatic) or on land (terrestrial). Ecosystems can be small like under a rock or inside a tree trunk, medium like a pond, lake, or forest, or large like the ocean or our entire planet.

    -Coral reefs are busy underwater ecosystems. The corals look like rocks but actually are animals. They have hard calcium carbonate skeletons like clams. They form a base for lots of other organisms to live. Coral reefs are complicated and very fragile. They are easily affected by pollution. (Currently with the increase in ocean temperatures, corals are bleaching)

    - Ecosystems are connected in a way or to be more precise, they’re a system. Each organism depends on each other for example the plants feed the herbivores and the carnivores consume the herbivores. Now if one element is off then it ruins the system. Ecosystems could be overpopulated if there isn’t a predator there to maintain the balance.
