A pregnant woman in her second trimester arrives at the local health department, requesting a flu shot. the client states that she gets the flu vaccine every year and has never had an adverse reaction. what action should the nurse perform?

    If a pregnant woman request the flu shot in her second trimester, the nurse should speak with the pregnant woman to asses her current health status and find out whether or not she has been around someone with influenza. Once the nurse has evaluated those findings, if the patient appears to be in good physical health the nurse should proceed with giving the pregnant woman the flu shot.
