After blood becomes oxygenated it returns to the heart and is then pumped to body cells.

This process is part of the pulmonary circulation. Pulmonary circulation transports deoxygenated blood from the right ventricle of the heart to the lungs where it becomes oxygenated. After that, oxygenated blood returns to the left atrium and ventricle of the heart. As a part of the systematic circulation, heart pumps the blood through the aorta from the left ventricle to the rest of the body.
