What would happen to a person who is not getting enough essential amino acids in his or her diet

    Your body can synthesize some of the molecules it needs to maintain your health, but the ones it can't make must come from your diet. Amino acids are small molecules that, when linked together in a variety of patterns, form a protein. Essential amino acids are those you can't manufacture and are therefore required in the foods you eat each day. A lack of even one of these can, over time, affect both your physical and mental health
