    Receptor detects stimuli

Converts this into an electrical impulse which travels down the sensory neurone

Sensory neurone impulse goes to spine (CNS), crossing a synapse as neurotransmitters to get to the relay neurone.

From here, the information goes to the brain and also goes down the motor neurones as an impulse. This goes to the effector which acts the response.
