Explain the importance of nutrients to an organism of your choice

I have 2 examples down below!

Apple tree: An apple tree produces apples or the fruit of the tree using photosynthesis. Photosynthesis is very important without it no energy will be provided in order to produce the offspring (in this case apples).

Human: Humans need the nutrients of food in order to stay active, lead healthy lives, and reproduce. Without nutrients we humans wouldn't be able to thrive.
