    Produce oxygen. They are believed to have evolved into the endoplasts, leucoplasts, and chloroplasts in current phototropic eukaryotes, through endosymbiosis. They have internal thylakoids, similarly to the chloroplasts in plants. Cyanobacteria are believed to have created the conducive environment for the establishment of the aerobic organism on the earth’s surface.
