When a client suffered from chest pain, the nurse must look at the onset time and activity of the client before the pain commenced. Then takes any history of heart disease or risk factors and find out other symptoms like nausea or dizziness. After that, the nurse should ask if the pain stays or radiates to different area of the body, where the pain exactly coming from, how intense the pain, describe the pain and verify the timing like if it is continuous or intermittent. Moreover, a 12 lead ECG and blood test must be perform to assess for arrhythmias or myocardial damage or heart attack.
