How can 2 black horses produce an offspring that is chestnut-colored

    If one of the black horses carries chestnut-color genes, it may affect the offspring. If the parents, for example, was chestnut colored, they could pass on this trait to their offspring, giving them the genetics to make yet another chestnut-colored foal.
