The mesencephalon gives rise to the midbrain and aqueduct of the midbrian (cerebal aqueduct). Both the prosencephalon and rhombencephalon develops in to the metencephalon and myelencephalon. The telencephalon develops into the cerebrum and lateral ventricles. The diencephalon forms the thalamus, hypothalamus, and epithalamus.
