    Receptor editing is a process that occurs during the maturation of lymphocytes and this is a protective process because has a possibility of eliminating any developing T or B lymphocytes that are self-reactive. Because receptor editing is a part of lymphocyte maturation it occurs in the bone marrow and the thymus (generative or central lymphoid organs).
