Removing trees affect nitrogen cycling in an ecosystem by eliminating and destroying the micro organisms which lives in the roots of trees and which function by fixing nitrogen into the soil. Because of the cut trees, it will be easy for the rain to wash away the nitrogen content of the soil through erosion. All these will work together to reduce the fertility of the soil.
