All the field mice that live in a field of light colored grass have tan fur. one of the mice is born with black fur. what would cause the black fur? A:mutation B: selective breeding c: adaptation D: natural selection

    A. mutation would be a change in the DNA of the mouse causing it to have a different color fur.

    It would be a mutation. all of the other mice have tan fur. that rules out natural selection and selective breeding because both require a parent with the genes for black fur. and adaptation means that the mice are changing due to their environment.
