    Postoperatively, a patient with a radical neck dissection should be placed in fowler's position. In addition, there are several types of fowler's positions which are th low, the semi, the standard and high fowler's. The low fowler's position is when the head of bed is elevated 15 to 30 degrees, the semi fowler's position is 30 to 45 degrees, standard fowler's is 45 to 60 degrees and high fowler's position is 80 to 90 degrees.
